My Today Show Interview

by | Feb 24, 2009

What an exciting week I’ve had!

If you  missed the interview on the Today Show Tuesday morning (what, you had something more important to do?! 😉 )  then you can watch it here now:

It runs about 7 minutes which is a VERY long interview for prime-time TV. Given the number of emails that have filled my inbox since the interview aired it seems that what James Arthur Ray (my co-interviewee whom you may recognize from the movie “The Secret”) and I shared struck a chord.

Producers are always interested to know how people respond to their segments. If you have some feedback you’d like to share with them please drop a comment below and I’ll be sure that they get the feedback.

Thanks and as always, live boldly!

Whether you want to make a change, grow your leadership, or better the world, The Courage Gap is your roadmap to close the gap between who you are and who you’re meant to be.

If you ever wish you felt braver, this podcast is for you. You’ll gain inspiration from a host of incredible leaders. I also share my own insights on how to be a bit braver in our relationships, leadership, and life.

    Margie You were great!
I was coaching a client in DC today about just that- In times like this, We must make and extra effort to be positive, and do whatever we must to keep that optimism.
We need to remember we have been living in an unrealistic balloon, that was over inflated- the balloon popped all around the world- but it’s not the end of the world- it is the beginning – maybe we will be willing to help one another more now, working together to form a better place for us to live, focusing on people and not how much money we can get from them.

    Margie,

What a wonderful segment. You’re so right. We cannot control what is happening in the world today, but we can control how we respond to it. With all the negative news out there, it was reassuring to hear your positive words.

    Thank you very much!

Margie. Loved the segment on the today show and good playing with your male counterpart (gives that mars and venus perspective). I think reminding people to ask for what they need (you taught me well and I use it even when it’s not always popular) is great. The other key to thinking; instead of absent-based thinking people should start with what they do have and what works. My 2009 mantra, start with Fabulous and work your way downhill – it’s a better ride. Keep up the great work !

Excellent segment Margie. You speak so well and your message is so important for so many people suffering in fear and anxiety at the moment. You are so right, fear breeds fear and so we need to be careful about how much power we are giving to our fears.
Just one bit of advice, next time leave your buddy at home. He obviously wanted to take the limelight and frankly, i think you have much more wisdom to share than him.

Margie, wonderful job on the Today show. So natural and authentic. I really like the message you presented about when more is asked of you, then you need to ask more of other people.
Let’s hope we see you on the Today show again!

Margie, I must say it was very encouraging to listen to you on the Today Show. It’s so much easier to say “I can’t” than to take the bull by the horns and say, “Hey, I CAN do that.” Can’t sounds so negative, doesn’t it?

Here’s hoping you have the opportunity to do many more appearances on the Today Show.

Thank you Margie for reminding me of what I know is the truth but which is so easily forgotten in the midst of the current economic turmoil. You have a special presence and I am so glad I had the television on when your interview came on. You reassured me that everythig will be okay… no matter what. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing your advice and widsom on the Today Show. What an inspiring interview. I am going to worry less and be more brave in dealing with the challenges that I am facing, both in my workplace and in my family life. You are right, when there is a lot being asked of us, we need to be asking more from others. Very good advice which i plan to follow… starting today! Thank you and i hope that you are back on the Today show very soon. I think everyone would benefit from listening to you.
    Warm wishes to you.

Thank you Margie for getting to the heart of the issue on this interview. It may have been a long interview for this program but i can tell you that i just wish you had more time to speak as i think your message is one that AMerica needs to hear right now loud and clear.

    Margie,

Thanks for reminding me again that we must ask for what we want.

I know that I get frustrated because my co-workers or family aren’t able to give me what I want, but the truth is they don’t know unless I tell them.

You book on finding courage is immensely helpful to me.

    Thank you

Nice job, Margie. It seemed that Kathy Lee and Hoda were tuned in to your message and gave you ample opportunity to get it across. We look forward to you having more opportunities to get your valuable messages across.

my God, I thought you have been going to chip in with some decisive brainstorm in the finish there,
not leave it with ‘we leave it to you to decide’.
