Lessons gathered from the indiscretions of a public figure:

1. Naiveté: Athletes are subject to frailties as all human beings: A naïve person tends to oversimplify a situation and thereby fails to see critical factors that may significantly affect an outcome. The booby traps that follow success, wealth, and fame such as Greed and Pride to name a few, affect everyone.

2. Greed, and Pride (also known as arrogance or conceit), can impede happiness and success. If I were to ask, “who has a problem with greed or pride?" Many would probably not answer, but the fact that it has not produced devastating consequences does not mean it is absent. The seeds of greed and pride are present within all and can creep in almost unnoticed until it appears suddenly.

I am not condoning Tiger Woods infidelity but it is easier to look in others’ boat and not notice; your own is sinking like the Titanic. The lesson learned is to learn from others mistakes and find the courage to forgive because life is a series of decisions, and decisions have consequences.

I am using Tiger Woods public issue as a teaching moment in my own life. What corrective measures can be taken to prevent greed and pride from ultimately robbing you of what you value most?

Here, here! I’m so glad to see that you weren’t afraid to speak out about this! It’s great to know that in our society of diminishing morals and values, there are still people willing to insist upon integrity and character! It may not be the most popular stance, but it’s the right stance and I applaud you and support you 101%! Thank you, Margie!!!

Well said Margie. Let's get above all the scandal and focus on what is really the issue here... a lack of character in a man that has no excuse for it. He's not only let his wife and children down, he's let millions of fans around the world down.
